From our experience we recommend a realistic approach to entering the inspection business part-time. It is not possible to predict your income, but the following projections would be typical of a new part-time professional inspector.

The figure of $300 for each inspection is typical for Home Inspection Service. Fees, however, vary widely across the country.

First six months 1 inspection per week at $300 $7,800.00

Second six months 1.5 inspections per week at $300 11,700.00

First year potential part-time income (approximately) $19,500.00

Second year 2.5 inspections per week at $325 $42,250.00

Building this career is just like building any other profession. The income projections for a new accountant, dentist, or attorney have a similar three-year growth curve. Manufactured Home Training and Inspection

Jim Lucas provides manufactured home training and certification for less than the cost of one inspection. This is a one-day course for eight (8) continuing education credits. You will learn the differences between a stick-built house and a manufactured home. These include mobile and modular homes. Jim has taught this course to home inspectors throughout the nation.
